A recent firmware leak for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has confirmed that Samsung is already developing One UI 8.5, its next major software update. This update is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series, which should be announced in early 2026.
According to insider tips, Samsung is also working on a new version of the Samsung Internet browser, specially designed for the Galaxy S26 and future versions of One UI. It’s still early in development, so it’s unclear what new features will be included. However, there’s a chance we might see a redesigned address and tab bar, which could improve user experience and make browsing easier.
As with previous One UI updates, Samsung is expected to refresh many of its stock apps to match the new design and features of One UI 8.5. But for now, there are no official announcements about what those updates might look like.
Currently, Samsung is still focused on rolling out One UI 8.0, which made its debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. This version is also in beta testing for the Galaxy S25 lineup.
In short, Samsung is already planning ahead while continuing to improve its existing devices. The upcoming One UI 8.5 and Samsung Internet updates for the Galaxy S26 could bring a more refined and smoother experience for users.
More details should emerge as Samsung gets closer to the official launch. Until then, all eyes are on what next-gen features Samsung will bring to the table with the Galaxy S26 series.
